My name is David Nathaniel Linsenbardt the 1st. I am currently working towards my doctoral degree in the Psychobiology of Addictions program located within the Psychology Department at IUPUI under the supervision of Dr. Stephen L. Boehm II. Our lab currently has 2 primary interests: 1) Understanding the genetic, neurochemical and neuroanatomical mechanisms governing binge alcohol drinking behavior and 2) Elucidating possible genetic relationships to the prevalence of frequent and excessive alcohol exposure during development (particularly adolescence). I am personally (and currently) involved in using gentic animal models to evaluate 1) behavioral sensitization to the psychomotor stimulant ('euphoric') effects of alcohol and 2) the relationship between the endocannabinod system and binge alcohol drinking behavior. In general, my goal is to determine genetically mediated behavioral/brain characteristics governing the myriad of factors leading to the development and maintenance of alcoholism. In my spare time I eat and write up biographical information about myself for others to enjoy...
