Text Book: Introduction to Clinical Psychology by Compas and Gotlib

Each student will identify a topic or research area of interest in clinical psychology. On October 13th, you will identify and briefly summarize your topic in a 5-minute presentation to the class. At that time, you will also select a presentation time.

Your presentation during Nov 3-Nov 24th will be limited to 12 minutes. In that time, you should trace the history of your topic from beginning to present, with an emphasis on the most recent developments. You may focus on theories, methods and/or empirical findings. Your presentation should be accompanied by a 5-10 page paper in APA style.

Final grades will be based on your in-class participation, classroom presentations, and written paper.

Important Information about the Impact of the State-Mandated Faculty and Staff Furlough at SDSU

The devastating California state budget cuts prohibit faculty and staff at SDSU from working on two days per month during the 2009/10 academic year.

The faculty furlough prohibits faculty members from teaching, being on campus, doing research, and consulting with students on two days per month.. My furlough days that affect classroom attendance are the following: Nov 24 and Dec 8 On those days, classes and office hours are cancelled and telephone and e-mail messages cannot be answered.
